Music
All students in kindergarten through eighth grade are instructed in music. In addition to music instruction, students have many opportunities to be involved in musical pursuits. Fourth and fifth graders prepare and perform a concert or a musical each spring. They often present some of that music in the community as well. Middle school students have the choice to join the middle school choir or small ensemble. Middle school instrumentalists may be involved in the worship team or may work together with other instrumentalists in a small group for an elective. High school students may be a part of the high school choir or the high school worship team. The school presents a musical theatre production every other year.
Students may take their talents outside of CCS to participate in the ACSI adjudicated fine arts festivals at both the middle school and high school levels. Students also share their music at our own Evening of Science and Arts each spring. In addition, CCS musical groups can be found sharing in local churches, retirement homes, and even restaurants!
